The parish has a rich musical heritage and is the birthplace of many artistes including; Mavado, Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Elephant Man, The Mighty Diamonds, Monty Alexander, Beres Hammond, Lady Saw, Sugar Minott, Bounty Killer and many more. The parish is also the home of the legendary, Studio One Studio founded by the late Clement “Coxsone” Dodd.
